    Prerequisites:

    • Open Water Scuba Certification is required for this class by NAUI or a NAUI recognized agency. 
    • First Aid/CPR/Oxygen Administer training (We do offer this for $75 additional if needed [required for course certification but can be obtained from other agencies such as red cross])
    • Minimum Age 15 years old (Junior Advanced available for ages 10-14 years)
    • Must be able to perform complete basic open water skill circuit
    • Must be able to swim without support 450 yards.
    • Survival Swim for 20 minutes
    • Recover 10lbs. from 10 ft. of water with no bouyancy devices
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Part of the course is learning specialy carry methods for bringing an unresponsive person out of the water.

    Additional Requirements/Costs:

    • Rescue Breathing Barrier/mask [Your Rescue Breathing Barrier is only $11 with the class]
    • First AID kit (NOT REQUIRED) (you assemble your kit to use after graduation to be prepared for emergencies, some rescue divers carry portable O2 again not required for certification just reccomended after you graduate to get this to be able to respond effectively to an emergency that may require these items)
    • Park Fees $6 per day park fees for 2-3 days total for DeLeon or Blue Springs Parks. 
    • Maxium of 2 students per instructor ratio in this course, great for couples to learn together.

    The price is for the actual class and the book pack combined, all gear and supplies needed for certification course.  Student will receive training these required areas:

     

    The course includes:

    • NAUI Rescue or Advanced Rescue Open Water Scuba Lessons/Class
    • 6-9 hours academics much of which is at home study and some classroom time. 
    • 2 minimum in water training dives/sessions (much is surface work too)
    • Training manual, e-learning or CD's for academic training

    Student must complete the academics in advance of the class in the workbook reading all chapters and complete all the quizes in the book prior to the first session with an instructor.  The student must call to book the instructor and class time: 321.299.5796 or 239.297.9447  It is reccomended that you book at least 3 weeks in advanced but we can accomodate shorter timeframes in most cases if needed.  Please call with any questions 321.299.5796 or 239.297.9447.

     

    After payment we will send your book pack for study at home before the class starts.  We provide all gear with the exception of a Rescue Breath Barrier, First Aid Kit and O2.  You are welcome to purchase these items on our website or on your own but only the barrie is required for the class completion.  Please call with any questions: 321.299.5796 or 239.297.9447. 

     

    This certification if completed will allow a person to recognize and prevent diving problems, to directly manage risks, effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies.  Included are:

    • Assists
    • Transports
    • Surface Rescues
    • Rescues from depth
    • Basic Search and Rescue
    • use of Rescue Breathing Barrier Devices  like Pocket Mask
    • $75.00 Add on- CPR, First Aid, AED, O2 administration

    The student must meet or exceed the standards listed in the NAUI Rescue and/or Advance instructors guide in order to pass this class and receive certification.  This is not difficult and our instructors are patient experts happy to provide the training in each skill until we are sure you will be a safe open water diver.  It is always reccommended to get advanced training after open water certification.  This is an advanced course.  Must be 18 years old or accompanied by a parent for all sessions, complete a medical statement and be able to swim comfortably 450 yards and tread water for 20 minutes.  Please note there is some lifting of mock victims taught using special techniques.  Participants must be able to rescue a victim at minimum equal to thier size. 

    As a rescue diver we encourage strong physical fitness maintenance.
